About this project

Whether you are vegetarian or not, at Árbol de Seda you are bound to be served a delicious meal. You really can’t go wrong at this vegetarian-vegan fusion restaurant in Barrio Escalante. The menu covers a wide variety of options, ranging from spring rolls and salads to hamburgers and pizza. Creative reinventions of classic Latin-American and Asiatic plates are to be expected. Want a recommendation? Go for the Superbowl: a meal that changes everyday but is always filled with a tremendous amount of superfoods.

Árbol de Seda wasn’t the easiest place to photograph food. The light was dim and the walls orange and yellow. Luckily the presentation of the meals was very appetizing. With some Lightroom-editing afterwards the shoot resulted in a batch of perfect pictures, which pleased both me and the client.

About Árbol de Seda

Árbol de Seda is a vegetarian fusion restaurant, that started in 2012. Tucked away in Barrio Escalante (San José, Costa Rica), it’s the kind of restaurant where you can taste the (healthy!) food has been made with love. Where it’s really hard to pick an option from the menu, because everything sounds delightful. Árbol de Seda describes itself as a secure, friendly place where everybody is welcome.

Not ready for a meal? The place also offers yoga classes and artisanal ice cream.
