About this project

An underdog, that’s what I’d call Ich bin ein Hamburger. This restaurant in The Hague likes to play with expectations and they certainly do it right. The name is as straightforward as it gets, yet humorous (and referring to the famous ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’). Standing in front of the restaurant you may not expect a lot but once you’re in… Well, I think you’ll be surprised.

I’ve been working with this hamburger restaurant and bar since February 2019 and it’s been such a blast. Not only because of the – in my opinion – great concept: high quality burgers, a huge selection of wine, a real bar and, yes: jazz. No, to me, working with Ich bin ein Hamburger has been 100% fun because of the creative freedom the owner, Stephane, has given to me.

Every 4 weeks I visit the restaurant to shoot new content. Content ranges from specifically created graphic design templates to photography, GIFs and videos. We will be making more videos in the near future: we wanted to start with a strong base of photography. Establishing the tone-of-voice. Which is quite special: we’re writing from a me-perspective. “I would like to see you soon”. Curious? Check out the posts by clicking some below (underneath the gallery).

About Ich bin ein Hamburger

Ich bin ein Hamburger is hamburger bar and restaurant with good jazz and a true bar experience. It can be found in the hip, young neighborhood ‘Zeeheldenkwartier’ in The Hague. You shouldn’t expect your average cheeseburger here. The opposite: a Confit de Canard burger, a falafel-shakshuka burger, a chicken burger with different types of mushrooms, and so on. Build in an old printing house, IBEH offers you a wonderful dining experience but with burgers. And there’s one for everyone – whether you’re vegetarian or not.
